2/2 Dutch Shepherd specialty show June 6th 2026In addition to individual evaluations, we also presented an offspring group by "Mina", AC SWEET SKOOMA (2018 Messi x Pants). She gave us two fantastic litters, but at this time went into the ring just with her babies from last summer. Judge Linda Wang-Ursem gave the group a honor prize, and of course it ended up being the Best in Show offspring group as well (by virtue of being the only one in the whole event! 😅). In any case Mina got to take home some well-deserved prizes. 🏆 Mina and her son Leo then went on to compete in the pair competition ring, becoming second after a beautiful pair of roughhairs.And then finally, our breeder's group... We added our fresh Best in Show veteran in the hopes that some of her shine would fall on the juniors following her into the ring... 🤭 ⋆✴︎˚｡⋆ Despite that I didn't believe our modest group would get anywhere — it would be too silly for the "doesn't give a crap about beauty" breeder to win again after the last time we presented a breeder's group in 2022, right?! To my surprise we received the honor prize, were placed over a group of really beautiful and colorful longhairs, AND eventually ended up winning Best in Show group!!! 🏆I guess I really have to start believing that our dogs aren't as "ugly" as I think, or that times have changed! I especially liked the term "close-fitting coats" in several of the evaluations - it's wonderful to hear that judges can see the merit of moderate coats on both sexes. I also greatly enjoyed seeing dogs from all types of pedigrees succeed on the day. It proves a good judge will see the value of a well-built dog of any bloodline, instead of being stuck only seeing one 'correct' look.Time for this hermit to crawl back into her hole for a couple of more years. Don't ask me to come to any shows anytime soon, my babies have won too much 😭 — it will go to my head. 😏🤣My greatest thanks to everybody who made the day so memorable! 1/2 Dutch Shepherd specialty show June 6th 2026Our small but diligent group presented all in all 8 dogs combined, in individual evaluations, breeder's group, offspring group and pair competition ring. The judge was Linda Wang-Ursem from the Netherlands, I can definitely recommend her shows for the awesomely long and detailed evaluations! Thank you!Junior class, our 10-month-olds from 2025 Léon x Mina litter:🥇 AC BLACKSWEET LEO "Leo" — Excellent / 1 / Best male 3 / BOS junior / junior CAC / CAC🎀 AC BLACKSWEET TAO "Tao" — Excellent / 2🎀 AC BLACKSWEET MEI "Mei" — Excellent / 3🎀 AC BLACKSWEET NIM "Nimbus" — Excellent / 4Champion class:🎀 AC RASZA SPARROW "Neva" (2019 Cosmo x Ruusa) — Excellent / 3Veteran class with our beautiful grannies from 2014 Geb x Jadi litter:🥇 AC NIVA ALEXSTRASZA "Ruusa" — Excellent / 1 / Best female 2 / CQ / BOB veteran / Best In Show veteran !🎀 AC NIVA ALYSRAZOR "Kaida" — Excellent / 3Ruusa was also awarded a trophy belonging to the eldest veteran in the show, which she robs from her sister by virtue of being the first-born in the litter. Big sisters... 🤭Extended family included some really cool puppies from AC RASZA REYES "Ruuti" who sired a litter for Saralpian kennel last year. Best In Show puppy was his son - huge congratulations to his team!Prizes and rosettes are just a side quest, and the thing I value the most: every one of our dogs got remarks for friendly behaviour. At Joensuu international dog show on 30th of May we had a fun double success:🏆 AC BLACKSWEET NIM "Nimbus" (2025 Léon x Mina) – EXC 1 Best female, Best junior, Best of breed, CAC JCAC JCACIB🏆 AC A WOLF AMONG THE PINES "Link" (2023 Ruuti x Mina) - EXC 1 Best male, Best of opposite sex, CAC CACIBI'm not sure we've ever had an Azuricoyote both BOB and BOS, especially when these guys are half siblings, too! :)Nimbus written critique (Judge Markku Kipinä):"Excellent type, balanced bitch. Good topline and tail. Balanced, sufficient angulations. Promising body. Dark eyes, good ears and bite. Pleasant temperament. Promising coat development. Balanced, promising gait."Link written critique:"A well-built, sufficiently strong-boned and well-built male. Good topline and tail. Good head lines. Somewhat pronounced forehead. Good ears, eyes and bite. Good temperament. Sufficiently balanced, effortless gait. Not in the best coat today."I am so proud of these 2 dogs with super balanced behaviours in a crowded dog show environment.
